PLACER COUNTY – First responders were faced with a challenging rescue operation near Colfax Sunday, after a vehicle careened off a roadway and crashed into the second story of a nearby home.

The incident occurred on Robbers Ravine Road in the Cape Horn area, which is along the Southern Pacific Railroad, approximately 2.5 miles northeast of Colfax. One person was injured in the crash, which required a unique rescue effort to extricate the victim out of the vehicle, according reports by Cal Fire, who responded to the incident with additional agencies.
