The Friday evening commute through El Dorado Hills was slowed after a traffic collision on Green Valley Road sent three people to area hospitals with minor injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. near Malcolm Dixon Road. According to the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, emergency dispatchers first received an automatic crash detection alert indicating a possible collision in the area. Moments later, a 911 caller confirmed the crash, prompting a full emergency response.
El Dorado Hills Fire Department crews responded with Engine 84, Medic 85, Medic 86, Truck 85 and Battalion 85, arriving to find multiple patients in need of evaluation.
Fire officials said three people sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation. Their conditions were not believed to be life-threatening.
As firefighters and paramedics treated the injured and worked to clear the scene, Green Valley Road was reduced to a single lane, creating delays for motorists traveling through the area during the busy Friday evening commute.
Once patient care was completed, traffic was allowed to move through the area in one lane while crews finished their work.
The cause of the collision was not immediately available Friday night, and no additional information about the vehicles involved had been released.
