Dance hits, acoustic favorites and classic-inspired rock power two nights of live entertainment
Red Hawk Resort Casino is set to kick off the weekend with another round of free live entertainment as a mix of high-energy dance music, acoustic performances and classic-inspired rock take over the Stage Bar and The Apex.
Friday night at the Stage Bar features Thunder Cover, a Sacramento-based five-piece band known for its nonstop energy and wide-ranging song selection that transforms every show into a full-scale party. Performing from 8 p.m. until midnight, the band delivers a dynamic set that spans decades and genres, moving seamlessly from pop and rock to dance anthems that keep the floor moving all night long.
Thunder Cover’s musical range runs from The Beatles to Dua Lipa, Foo Fighters to Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson to Maroon 5, creating a crowd-pleasing mix that appeals to audiences of all ages. Their ability to blend eras and styles into one cohesive performance has helped them build a loyal following over the past five years throughout the Sacramento region.
Tight musicianship and an engaging stage presence are hallmarks of the band’s live shows, with each performance built around keeping the crowd involved and energized. The recent addition of standout vocalist Zoe has further expanded the band’s sound, introducing a dynamic dual-lead element and fresh arrangements that breathe new life into familiar hits.
Live music begins earlier Friday evening at The Apex at Red Hawk Resort Casino, where the venue’s acoustic “Unplugged” entertainment series continues with a performance by Jason Weeks from 7 to 10 p.m.
Weeks’ path back to music began after returning to Sacramento following five years of service in the U.S. Navy. Having stepped away from performing during that time, he reentered the local music scene through open mic nights, eventually finding his footing again as a live performer. It was at the Torch Club open mic where he met Anmarie Fielding, who would later become both his wife and musical collaborator in their progressive pop-rock band, Juliet Company.
When not performing with the band, Weeks takes the stage as a solo artist or as part of a duo, playing venues across Northern California. His performances are built around a mix of original music and well-known covers that span decades, from the 1960s to today. Known for his approachable style and ability to connect with audiences, Weeks delivers a set that fits perfectly within the laid-back, all-ages atmosphere of The Apex.
Saturday night shifts the energy at the Stage Bar as Wildheart takes over from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m., delivering a polished, full-band performance rooted in classic influences with a modern edge.
Wildheart brings a rich blend of rock, pop and Americana, drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Wonder. Their sound captures the timeless spirit of these icons while adding a fresh approach that keeps audiences engaged from the first note to the final encore.
At the center of Wildheart’s performance is powerhouse vocalist Lisa Ellis, whose tributes to Linda Ronstadt have become a standout feature of the band’s shows. Ellis captures the emotion, tone and spirit of Ronstadt’s catalog, performing beloved songs such as “When Will I Be Loved,” “You’re No Good,” “Long, Long Time” and “Blue Bayou.” Her vocal performance, combined with the band’s seasoned musicianship, creates a concert-style experience inside the Stage Bar.
Rounding out the Wildheart lineup is Craig Stegall on lead vocals, lead guitar and saxophone; John Maniaci on keyboard, guitar and vocals; Gil Roman on bass and vocals; and Bobby Contreras on drums. Together, the group delivers a cohesive and energetic sound that spans multiple decades of musical influence, resulting in a vibrant and engaging night of live music.
All Stage Bar performances at Red Hawk Resort Casino are free with no cover charge, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Along with live entertainment, Red Hawk Resort Casino is offering a fresh lineup of promotions for Rewards Club members throughout the month.
