Annual fundraiser Nov. 7 will celebrate four decades of fighting hunger in Folsom while raising support for the food bank’s future
Forty years of neighbors helping neighbors will take center stage this fall as Twin Lakes Food Bank brings the community together for an evening celebrating its history while raising funds to continue fighting hunger in Folsom.
Twin Lakes Food Bank will host its annual gala, “A Moment in Time,” Saturday, Nov. 7, at Bayside Church Folsom. The cocktail-style evening will feature food, live music and a live auction while marking the food bank’s 40th anniversary of serving local families.
For four decades, Twin Lakes Food Bank has worked to provide food and other assistance to people facing food insecurity in the Folsom community. Today, its programs and services provide the equivalent of 691,310 meals to more than 1,800 families each year.
Organizers say this year’s anniversary gala will look back at the people who recognized a need in the community four decades ago while highlighting the volunteers, donors and supporters who have helped the organization grow.
“It’s an evening with friends, good food and fun that also raises considerable funds to provide quality nutrition for our neighbors in need. And now, as we celebrate Twin Lakes Food Bank’s 40th anniversary, we can take a look at the past, realize how key leaders recognized the need and imagine how we are now an integral part of the food bank’s future,” said Ian Cornell, board member of Choose Folsom.
The annual gala has grown into a community tradition, bringing supporters together for an evening of fundraising and fellowship. This year’s event will include live music, dinner catered by Pickles & Olives Catering and the return of auctioneer Freddie Silvera.
Guests will also hear more about Twin Lakes Food Bank’s mission and how an effort that began with a small group of people wanting to help their neighbors has grown into an organization serving thousands of local families.
“Forty years ago, Twin Lakes Food Bank started with a simple belief — that no one in our community should go hungry,” said Lisa Tuter, executive director of Twin Lakes Food Bank. “This year’s gala is our chance to celebrate everything that belief has become, from the guests we feed every day to the new facility we’re building for the future. The next 40 years start now, and we look forward to our community building it with us.”

The anniversary comes as Twin Lakes Food Bank continues to experience increased demand for food assistance amid rising food costs. The organization’s programs are designed to provide a safety net for families, allowing limited household income to stretch further toward expenses such as rent, utilities and education.
For Twin Lakes Food Bank Board President Ron Perry, the gala is also an opportunity to bring together many of the people who have supported that mission.
“There’s something special about being in a room filled with generous people who have a heart for our community and want to make a difference. Our gala brings together fun, generosity, and a shared sense of purpose; all in support of a mission that goes far beyond providing food. At the Twin Lakes Food Bank, we come alongside our guests with love and compassion, offering practical support while treating every person with dignity. It’s a great cause and a great organization to be part of. This gala is one people won’t want to miss,” Perry said.
The live auction will once again be one of the centerpieces of the evening. Among this year’s offerings are a two-night Bodega Bay getaway with panoramic views, a five-night retreat in Lanai, Hawaii, and a year of fresh organic produce from the Twin Lakes Food Bank garden, along with other experiences and packages.
For those unable to attend in person, the food bank will also hold an online auction from Oct. 30 through Nov. 7.
“A Moment in Time” begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Bayside Church Folsom. Tickets are $150 per person and are now on sale through Twin Lakes Food Bank at twinlakesfoodbank.org/2026gala/.
The proceeds will support Twin Lakes Food Bank as it continues serving local families and prepares for the next chapter of an organization that has spent four decades working to ensure Folsom neighbors facing hardship have food on their tables.
