A fast response by the El Dorado Hills Fire Department and CAL FIRE’s Amador-El Dorado Unit prevented a Sunday afternoon vehicle fire from spreading beyond a garage and into surrounding dry vegetation in the Salmon Falls Road area.
The fire was reported at approximately 2:15 p.m. near Salmon Falls Road and Dorado Ridge Trail. According to the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, crews arrived to find a side by side style off-road utility vehicle (UTV) engulfed in flames with the fire extending into the attached garage of a nearby residence. Firefighters quickly attacked the blaze and brought it under control before it could spread further.
The incident occurred during hot, dry conditions in a hillside neighborhood where surrounding grasses and vegetation could have fueled a much larger fire. Thanks to the rapid response and aggressive firefighting efforts, crews were able to stop the fire before it spread into nearby vegetation or threatened additional homes.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
