Red Hawk Resort Casino delivers another full slate of live entertainment this weekend as three distinct acts take over the Stage Bar and The Apex, offering guests a mix of smooth yacht rock favorites, genre-spanning guitar work and a high-energy fusion of mariachi and rock.
Friday night at the Stage Bar, Ride Captain Ride keeps the good vibes rolling with a performance rooted in the smooth, melodic sounds of the 1970s and 1980s. Taking the stage from 8 p.m. until midnight, the band specializes in yacht rock and soft rock favorites, bringing a wave of nostalgia to the casino floor.
As part of the Gotcha Covered Music family, Ride Captain Ride has built a reputation for versatile and engaging live performances that resonate with audiences looking for both a laid-back listening experience and a reason to hit the dance floor. Their setlists feature iconic songs from artists such as Christopher Cross, Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and Toto, capturing the breezy, polished sound that defined an era.

Live music begins earlier Friday evening at The Apex at Red Hawk Resort Casino, where Sacramento guitarist Art Padilla brings his dynamic style to the stage. Padilla has been mastering the guitar since the age of 11 and has performed professionally since 1999, developing a wide-ranging skill set that spans pop-punk, metal, pop, rock and country.
Over the course of his career, Padilla has earned recognition from the Sacramento Area Music Awards and the WCS International Songwriting Competition for his original work, including the song “Baby You Are Something.” His experience has also taken him to the NAMM Show, where he has performed among top musicians and industry professionals, and to the Tech Awards, where he participated in honoring Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac.
Padilla’s performances reflect both technical precision and musical versatility, allowing him to move seamlessly across genres while maintaining a strong connection with his audience. His set at The Apex offers a chance for guests to experience a musician who blends years of experience with a passion for live performance.
Saturday night shifts the tone at the Stage Bar as The Outlaw Mariachi takes over from 8 p.m. until midnight, delivering a show that blends traditional mariachi roots with the power and attitude of rock music.
Billed as “L.A.’s premiere rock mariachi band,” The Outlaw Mariachi has carved out a unique space in the live music scene by combining the instrumentation and style of traditional mariachi with the energy of American and Latin rock. The group’s origins trace back to a decade-long partnership between the original frontmen and musical director of the well-known band Metalachi. In 2020, the duo assembled a lineup of all-star caliber musicians, forming The Outlaw Mariachi during the pandemic.
Through podcasts and livestream performances, the band quickly built a strong online presence before emerging as a major live act once in-person shows returned. Since then, they have become one of the most distinctive and fastest-growing acts to come out of Los Angeles.
Their performances are anything but conventional. Known as the “charros of rock,” the band fuses traditional mariachi sounds with high-powered rock arrangements, while also incorporating elements of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, country influences and danceable styles such as cumbia, merengue, zapateado and mambo. The result is a genre-blending experience that keeps audiences engaged and moving throughout the night.
The Outlaw Mariachi applies its signature style to a wide range of songs, covering artists from Queen, Pink Floyd and The Beatles to Beastie Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Guns N’ Roses, Rammstein, Oingo Boingo and even 2Pac. The unexpected fusion of styles transforms familiar hits into something entirely new, often turning the Stage Bar into a full dance party.
Fronted by singer “GunSkull” Ricky and trumpeter Mateo “Mav” Durán, the band also brings a strong comedic element to its performances, creating a show that entertains from start to finish. While their approach pushes boundaries, the group remains grounded in authentic mariachi tradition, with many members also performing in traditional ensembles when not touring. This versatility allows them to connect with both American and Latino audiences of all ages, delivering a show designed to engage a wide range of music fans.
All Stage Bar performances at Red Hawk Resort Casino are free with no cover charge, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
