Outdoor event will feature yoga, sound bowls, music, breathwork and community connection as the new studio prepares to open its doors in Folsom
As communities around the world prepare to celebrate International Yoga Day and welcome the official start of summer, residents will have an opportunity to do both locally during a special free wellness event at the Palladio later this month.
YogaSix Folsom is inviting the public to gather in the Palladio Piazza on Sunday, June 21, for a morning dedicated to movement, mindfulness and community connection in honor of International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice. The event, which begins at 9 a.m., will bring together yoga enthusiasts, newcomers and families for an outdoor experience designed to celebrate health, renewal and the longest day of the year.
The Summer Solstice, which marks the first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, has long been viewed as a time of energy, growth and new beginnings. International Yoga Day, observed annually on June 21, promotes the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga and is celebrated in countries around the globe through public gatherings, classes and wellness events.
YogaSix Folsom’s event will combine elements of both celebrations, creating what organizers describe as a welcoming and inclusive experience for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Participants will be guided through gentle yoga movements and sun salutations while also taking part in breathwork exercises designed to encourage relaxation and mindfulness. The morning will also feature sound bowls, live singing and music intended to create a peaceful atmosphere and help participants connect with the spirit of the occasion.
Organizers say no prior yoga experience is necessary, making the event accessible to anyone interested in exploring yoga or simply enjoying a unique outdoor community gathering.
The event also offers local residents an early introduction to YogaSix Folsom before the studio officially opens its doors at the Palladio in the coming weeks. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet members of the teaching team, learn more about the studio’s class offerings and get a preview of what the new wellness destination will bring to the community.
“We are thrilled to bring the community together for this special event,” said Michelle, owner of YogaSix Folsom and YogaSix El Dorado Hills. “International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice are both about connection, renewal, and celebration. This event is a chance for people of all ages and experience levels to move, breathe, and experience the welcoming community we’re building at YogaSix Folsom.”
The gathering comes as interest in wellness-focused activities continues to grow throughout the region. Outdoor fitness events, mindfulness programs and community-centered health initiatives have become increasingly popular as residents seek opportunities to improve both physical and mental well-being while connecting with others.
YogaSix has built its reputation around making yoga approachable and accessible. The brand offers a variety of class formats designed to accommodate different experience levels and fitness goals, from restorative and recovery-focused sessions to strength-building and athletic yoga practices.
The upcoming Folsom location is expected to add another wellness option to the growing mix of businesses at the Palladio, which continues to expand its offerings in retail, dining, entertainment, hospitality and health-focused services.
Adding to the excitement surrounding the event, organizers announced that Good Day Sacramento is expected to be onsite to help capture the celebration. Participants may have the opportunity to be featured as part of the morning’s television coverage, showcasing both the event and the growing YogaSix community in Folsom.
While the event is free to attend, advance registration is required. Organizers encourage those interested in participating to reserve a spot prior to the event.
The International Yoga Day and Summer Solstice Celebration will take place Sunday, June 21, at 9 a.m. in the Palladio Piazza and is open to the public.
