Authorities have identified the body found at Folsom Lake Friday as that of a missing man that was swept away in the waters of the American River near Auburn late last month.

According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Victor Nguyen of Antelope was pulled from the waters of Folsom Lake late Friday morning. Nguyen’s body was spotted by a group of friends that were hiking in the area Friday and called the Placer County Sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office had received a call on April 29 reported that Nguyen had been swept away into the American River at the confluence near Auburn.  

At this time there is still one other victim that has not been located that was swept away in the waters near Auburn on May 14.
