Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a vegetation fire in El Dorado Hills that caused several hundred power outages in the area late Saturday afternoon and required air support to contain. 

As  of 5:45 pm, fire officials reported that the forward progress of a fire that ignited on Arroyo Vista Way around 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon has halted and fire crews continue to work the area on the ground with unite from El Dorado Hills, CalFire and support from Folsom fire.  

According to reports by CalFire, the blaze burned approximately five acres but wasn’t posing any immediate threat to structures and had a slow rate of spread which assisted crews in it containment. 

The fire caused power outages to approximately 800 customers. According to Pacific Gas and Electric, power was restored to the area between 6 and 7 pm. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and crews remained on scene into later Saturday night insure all of the area was fully extinguished.
