Units from the Folsom Fire Department are on the scene of a water rescue on Folsom Lake near Folsom Point involving a reported boat fire.

At 2:15 p.m. 911 operators dispatched units to 1000 East Natoma Street, which is the Folsom Point Boat Launch. According to the sporting party, a vessel that launched from address had traveled out on the waters and still visible when it caught fire. There were reportedly two occupants on the boat, described as a 25-foot white Sea Ray with life jackets that had visibly deployed fire extinguishers to extinguish the flames according to emergency radio traffic.

Folsom Rescue Boats 35 and 36 have been deployed from Folsom Point and Brown’s Ravine along with multiple engines and two medic units. Sacramento County Sheriffs Department Helicopter 1 has arrived above the incident and reports it appears the active flames have been extinguishes and one of the boat’s occupants is waving a red rescue flag.

2:33 p.m.: Folsom’s Boat 35 has been launched on the water

2:34 pm: First responders on boat 36 have made contact with an occupant of the boat, who reported the active fire had been extinguished.

2:35 pm: Emergency traffic reports that boat 35 will be utilized to transport the two stranded occupants of the boat, who reportedly have no serious injuries. El Dorado Hills units that were dispatched for mutual aid are released and Folsom units remain on scene on both water and the land. The damaged boat is not drivable and will need to be towed ashore.
