The El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce has announced the creation of a new signature event it will present, “Heart of the Hills”, this Spring. The event will be  dedicated to a true American music artform – the Blues and will take place on May 11 at the beautiful outdoor grounds at Overland District, just above Regal Cinemas at the El Dorado Hills Town Center.

Heart of the Hills Blues Blast is a one-day Blues music festival featuring award-winning, National touring acts that, “will blow your socks off,” according to Mary Carrera of the El Dorado Hills Chamber. The festival has signed performers, Tom Rigney & Flambeau, Chris Cain as well as Tommy Castro & The Painkillers

The talent comes with all the credentials to back their fan-winning style, noted Carerra. One of the hottest electric fiddle players on the planet, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year recipients and accolades of which include:

“Castro is one of the brightest stars in the blues-soul genre. Voracious blues energy and ultimate soul power…. impassioned vocals and pure inventiveness in his stellar guitar solos.”    – Blues Music Magazine

Tommy Castro and the Painkillers will be one of three acts at the new Heart of the Hills Music Festival in El Dorado Hills slated for May 11.

Tommy Castro – “Soul-baring, roadhouse-meets-church, Memphis guitar licks…gritty voice…Southern colors and rootsy textures.    – Washington Post

Chris Cain – “Hands down my favorite blues player on the scene today. He is an absolute blinder of a guitarist, with the voice of B.B. King and the chops of Albert King.”       – Joe Bonamassa

Chris Cain will be one of three acts at the new Heart of the Hills Music Festival in El Dorado Hills slated for May 11.

“Tom Rigney has written exacting music that requires a high-level of skill to play and absolutely no effort to listen to.  Try to sit still while Rigney’s guys play – I dare you! Try to pretend that they are not unabashedly beautiful, wistful, haunting, or mirthful – these guys are great!   – Peter Coyote.
