The Folsom Hotel welcomes Matt W. Gage and his band live  Friday, Jan. 26. Gage will be headlining the night of entertainment at the Historic Folsom venue and will be joined by special guest The Damn Liars for a night of live music to get the weekend started.

Born and raised in Humboldt and Mendocino counties you can guess traditional country music was always around Matt W Gage. From Johnny Cash to Waylon Jennings to Merle Haggard to Willie Nelson, to the likes of Hank Williams Jr and Elvis Presley surrounded Matt’s early influences.

Outside of 70s country music and punk music Matt also credits his updated sound to country artists Jackson Taylor & The Sinners and Shooter Jennings on a 357’s. In 2015 Matt released his debut album featuring two songs with Lars Frederiksen and Matt Freeman of the band Rancid.

Above all Matt as a storyteller. Combining real life stories with traditional country music lifestyle. Matt W Gage has taken back straight forward song writing and both country music and punk roots. In doing so the Matt W Gage band has creating its own sound and path.

Doors open for the concert at 7:00 p.m. for Friday’s show which begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $10 and can be purchased in advance online here https://www.seetickets.us/event/matt-w-gage/583883
