The Boardwalk will host a trio of bands this Saturday night, Mar. 9. The young rock sensations, Red Voodoo, are set to headline the evening, joined by Split Persona and the Jeffy Spaghetti Variety Show at the Orangevale music venue.

Based out of Sacramento, Red Voodoo will bring their electric stage presence, polished harmonies, and classic yet fresh take on Rock ‘n’ Roll to The Boardwalk stage on Saturday. The group has been playing in small bars and clubs since 2019.

During the pandemic, the group released two singles, “Rise Up” and “Bring It Back.” This led to opening spots for heavy hitters in rock, such as rock and roll hall of famer Sammy Hagar, Bay Area legends Y&T, Everclear, Slaughter, and many more. In February, the group performed on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise alongside Alice Cooper and Buckcherry, making them the youngest band to date to play the festival on the water.

When they aren’t on stage, Red Voodoo has been recording at the famous Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, working on a five-track EP with Grammy-nominated producer Jaimeson Durr. The group’s goal is to make rock mainstream again and spark a fire in the hearts of music lovers everywhere. Red Voodoo consists of lead singer and front man Dino McCord, Lead Guitarist Davin Loiler, Bassist Andrew Edwards, and Drummer Andy Nathan.

Split Persona

Emerging out of nowhere in 2019, forming on the mission of winning their high school “Battle Of The Bands,” Zander had the “go the distance” mindset, finding the musicians that made Split Persona. In just a few years, they found themselves collaborating with rock and roll veterans like 3 Doors Down on their single “I Need More,” opening up for Puddle of Mudd, working with bassist and producer Matt Noveskey at Orb Studios in Austin, TX on their new 2023 EP “Drown,” and placing in the top 3 of the Danny Wimmer Presents “Battle For The Big Stage” out of 64 other bands where the band advanced through brackets with just their demos, winning over the votes of a live-stream Twitch audience of over 10,000.

In addition to their unique style, they can pull together a memorable live performance with their live sound, capturing any size audience and keeping them listening and involved, feeling part of the show. With tracks like “I Need More,” “Prey,” and “Strawberries” becoming fan favorites, Split Persona would go on to start a GoFundMe to raise money for a van for them to tour in, only for it to be T-Boned only 2 months into them owning their van on their first tour, losing it entirely. This hasn’t stopped the band, however, as they plan on continuing to make kickass music and playing unforgettable live shows into 2023.

Jeffy Spaghetti Variety Show

The Jeffy Spaghetti variety show is an Audio-Visual Performing Arts group based out of Sacramento, California. At the core of the group is Prog/Psych style musical performances of both original material and ample cover songs performed by the core group of members.

To add to the experience and to stay loyal to our namesake of “Variety Show,” we also incorporate many other elements into our performances other than the music. This can include anything from having an outlandish carnival-type game or magic trick in the middle of our set, having other local noteworthy musicians being featured for a set, to even having a theatrical or artistic performance that integrates into our music set. Our goal is to always give the audience a unique experience that’s not only hard to describe but worth going back to check it out again and again.

Saturday’s show begins at 8:00 p.m. and is an all-ages show with a paying adult. The Boardwalk is located at 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale. Tickets and more information can be found at www.rocktheboardwalk.com
