Occupying the space that was previously home to Curry House next to Safeway, Mantra touts that it was created by a group of like-minded foodies and longtime friends who have always, “liked to eat, drink and create excellent food together,” according to its business profile online.  What started as a hobby led the group to open this new Vegan option .

The restaurant is a spinoff from Sanskrit, a successful New Age Indian Restaurant on Folsom’s East Bidwell Street. Partners Lijo Madassery and Sushil Kamble are the names behind the soon to open restaurant.

“Our hobby quickly led us to open this Vegan & Vegetarian restaurant, where people from all over the Sacramento region and beyond can meet to enjoy our unique dishes and comfortable atmosphere,” reads a statement on Mantra’s website.
