A 37-year-old man drowned while swimming in the waters of Folsom Lake Saturday evening. 

At approximately 7 p.m. Saturday, units from California State Parks and South Placer Fire were dispatched to the Granite Bay boat ramp at Folsom Lake after reports that man had not returned to the water surface.

A dive team and California State Park lifeguards actively began searching the area in the water as well as the shorelines.  Within 18 minutes of searching, divers located the unresponsive man in the water. 

At this time the victim’s name has not been released. The victim was reportedly not wearing any type of floatation device.

Officials have not shared any additional information or further details on the incident as rheh continue to investigate and await results from the county coroners office.
