With a bit of rain in the forecast, it’s a great weekend to enjoy local live music on the nearby Red Hawk Resort Casino Stage Bar this Friday and Saturday night with two different genres of music. On Friday Night, the sounds of the 60’s with the Summer of Love band followed by a night of country with Bobby Zoppi and the Corduroys Saturday night.
Looking at Saturday’s featured band, the music of the 60’s holds a special memory for those who grew up with it. It was music one could always sing along with, music you could dance to, music you fell in love with. Now, The 60’s Summer of Love Band brings all the memorable music from the 60’s together for you in one great show.
The 60’s Summer of Love Band is a six-piece ensemble that performs everything from The Beatles and the Stones to Aretha Franklin and CCR. The band also dresses in period clothes to take the audience back to those magical years as they perform many of the era’s biggest hits.
The band takes the stage at 10 p.m. and will play until 2 a.m. and there is no cover charge for stage bar entertainment.
On Saturday, Bobby Zoppi and the Corduroys shift the genre to country on the same stage at the same time.
Zoppi has been a lead singer-songwriter for many years. He has worked with many recording companies in the music business, including Qwest/Warner Brothers Records in the 90s, following by Warner/Chappel publishing and MCA/Universal records in 2000.
Bobby’s “Corduroys” is rooted in his early roots in country music. He grew up listening to the likes of George Jones, Randy Travis, George Straight but has also been influence by Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and is currently a big fan of Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Chesney, Luke Brian amongst others. The Corduroys perform many of the old school hits as well as current country/rock on the radio and a few originals.
