Born in Kingston, New York, and raised in Marin County, California, Morrison was immersed in music from a young age. Rather than relying on her father’s name, she developed her own sound and presence in the industry. Her professional career began in the early 1990s when she toured with Van Morrison’s Rhythm and Soul Revue as a featured performer. This experience refined her skills and songwriting, and by 1994, she had launched her own path.

Morrison soon formed her band, Caledonia, named after one of her father’s songs. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she quickly gained a following for her energetic performances. In 1997, she released her debut album, Caledonia, on her own label, Belfast Violet Records. The album’s success led to a 1999 re-release through Monster Music. That same year, she collaborated with Northern California blues guitarist Roy Rogers on Everybody’s Angel, further cementing her place in the blues scene.

In 2001, she signed with Vanguard Records and worked with producer Steve Buckingham on her second full-length album, 7 Wishes, released in April 2002. The album featured the single “Smoke in Bed,” which received national airplay. Over the years, Morrison has toured extensively, sharing the stage with Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, Dr. John, Keb’ Mo’, and Taj Mahal. Her performances are known for their energy, emotional depth, and seamless blending of musical influences.

With a career spanning decades, Morrison continues to evolve while staying true to her roots. This Sunday’s performance at Powerhouse Pub promises an unforgettable mix of blues, rock, and soul in one of Historic Folsom’s premier live music venues.
