The talented students of Folsom Lake College’s Falcon’s Eye Theatre are taking their craft beyond the stage and into the countryside, opening a special run of Twelfth Night at the historic Wakamatsu Farm in Placerville.
This traveling production of Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy opens Thursday, May 8, for a limited four-night engagement that promises laughter, music, and magic under the stars.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Falcon’s Eye Theatre has brought Shakespeare to an outdoor setting, and this year’s production is directed by Jamie Van Camp, known for previous hits like The Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing. This fresh take on Twelfth Night weaves live music into the heart of the performance, with sea shanties and soulful tunes performed by local musician Jillian Secor and her ensemble.
Set against the natural beauty of Wakamatsu Farm, the production invites audiences into the world of shipwrecked Viola, mistaken identities, unspoken love, and comedic twists that have made Twelfth Night a timeless favorite.
Performances begin nightly at 7:00 p.m. from May 8 through May 11. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., with food and wine available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a spirit of adventure as they enjoy Shakespeare in an unforgettable setting.
Wakamatsu Farm is located at 941 Cold Springs Road in Placerville and spans 272 acres of scenic landscape in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The historic property is managed by the American River Conservancy and serves as both a cultural landmark and a nature-based community resource.
