PLACERVILLE — The countdown is down to the single digits for one of the region’s most anticipated spring music festivals. Golden Road Gathering returns to the Sierra Nevada foothills this weekend, bringing an eclectic mix of musical talent to the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville for three days of high-energy performances, community spirit, and immersive experiences.

From May 16–18, 2025, music lovers of all ages will descend upon Placerville for the third annual installment of the family-friendly festival. Known for its laid-back vibe and emphasis on community, Golden Road Gathering blends music, nature, and wellness in a picturesque foothill setting.

This year’s headliners include genre-bending electronic pioneers Thievery Corporation, Colorado jamgrass veterans Leftover Salmon, and the earthy, electro-acoustic trio Dirtwire. The diverse roster spans more than 30 acts performing across multiple stages throughout the weekend.

Among the many performers joining the lineup are Satsang, Diggin’ Dirt, Bay Ledges, Blue Turtle Seduction, Scott Pemberton O Theory, Boot Juice, Free Creatures, Forrest Day, The Iceman Special, Object Heavy, Wolf Jett, Broken Compass Bluegrass, Suika T, Red Dirt Ruckus, Boca do Rio, and 10 Foot Tiger.

More than just a music festival, Golden Road Gathering offers immersive experiences that go well beyond the stage. On-site camping and RV access with modern restrooms and ample shade allow guests to stay close to the action. VIP ticket holders will enjoy premium perks like up-close stage access, daily wine tastings, and shaded lounge areas.

Attendees can also recharge mind and body with a slate of health and wellness activities, including yoga, sound healing, meditation, breathwork, and even a medicinal mushroom workshop. For families, the Kids Korner will feature crafts, interactive exhibits with California State Parks, and more.

Foodies and craft drink fans won’t be left out either. The event will feature locally sourced food trucks—including crowd favorite Marco’s Woodfired Pizza—alongside a curated selection of craft beers, ciders, and wines.

And in a rare move for festivals of its kind, Golden Road Gathering includes all late-night music performances in the price of admission.

“We are thrilled to present the 2025 edition of the Golden Road Gathering and bring another high-caliber event to Northern California for the third year,” said Golden Road Gathering founder Ryan Kronenberg. “The formula of presenting our favorite artists combined with thoughtful programming has proven very successful and has allowed us to expand our offerings and improve the creature comforts at the Fairgrounds.”
