With summer just around the corner, families can once again beat the heat and dive into fun as the Steve Miklos Aquatic Center opens for the 2025 recreation swim season this Saturday, May 24.
Operated by the City of Folsom, the Steve Miklos Aquatic Center offers a top-tier destination for water fun, fitness, and family recreation. Whether you’re cooling off in the water, lounging in the sun, or chasing kids through the splash zone, the facility has something for everyone.
The center features three distinct pools, including a 50-meter Olympic-sized pool, a recreational pool with a giant water slide and interactive play structure, and a shallow activity pool perfect for little ones. Diving boards and shady and sunny lounge areas provide plenty of options for relaxation or excitement. A poolside café is available for snacks and refreshments, and back by popular demand is the giant inflatable obstacle course—available for an additional $4 wristband. Trained lifeguards are always on duty to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
Recreation swim will be offered daily from 1 to 5 p.m., except for a brief closure from May 27 to 29 for early-season maintenance. Admission is free for children age 2 and under. Children ages 2 to 3 are $6, while ages 4 to 54 are $9. Seniors age 55 and older receive discounted admission at $6.
For those looking to make the most of the summer, the City of Folsom is offering a Family Recreation Swim Pass for $179, which provides unlimited visits for the entire season.
The Steve Miklos Aquatic Center is located at 1200 Riley Street, adjacent to Lembi Park. The facility also offers swim lessons, lap swim, water fitness classes, and facility rentals for birthday parties and group events. Local spray parks officially open Friday
One day before the opening of the pool, the City of Folsom will open its trio of spray parks on Friday, May 23, welcoming families and children to enjoy a season of refreshing outdoor fun.
The spray parks will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through September 27. Each location offers a variety of features designed for interactive water play and family gatherings, making them popular destinations during the warmer months.
At Livermore Community Park, located at 6004 Riley Street, visitors can enjoy a flume and creek-style water feature. The park is also equipped with restrooms, multiple sports fields, and convenient access to the city’s trail system, making it a favorite spot for all-day recreation.
John Kemp Community Park, at 1322 Bundrick Drive, provides a splash pad alongside sports fields and picnic areas. With available concessions and restrooms, the park is well-suited for birthday celebrations and weekend family outings.
Nisenan Community Park, found at 700 Golf Links Road, offers water play features in addition to lighted basketball courts, barbecue areas, and sports fields. Like the others, it provides bike trail access and a concession stand, giving park-goers a full-service experience.
City officials advise that spray park features may be temporarily shut down throughout the season to accommodate necessary maintenance or repairs. Guests are encouraged to check in advance if planning a visit.
