The smooth sounds of contemporary jazz will fill the air this Friday night , as acclaimed musician Peter Morgan takes the stage at the Palladio Piazza as part of the ongoing Friday Night Concert Series. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and continues until 9:30 p.m., offering a relaxing and soulful close to the week at Folsom’s premier shopping and dining destination.
Known for his original contemporary jazz compositions, Morgan delivers each piece in a coastal smooth jazz style infused with a touch of blues—his signature musical flavor. A true musical craftsman, Morgan has produced all six of his albums himself, showcasing his mastery of a wide array of instruments, including guitar, harmonica, bass, keyboards, lap steel, dobro, pedal steel, pan flute, ukulele, percussion, and vocals.
Over the years, Morgan has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in jazz and beyond, including Fattburger, Michael McDonald, trumpeter Chris Botti, and keyboardist Phillipe Saisse. He’s also been a featured performer at the Sacramento Jazz Festival, one of the largest and most celebrated jazz gatherings in the world.
His talents go far beyond the stage. Morgan’s musical resume includes serving as music director for several nationally broadcast PBS specials, such as the Boston Computer Museum’s Computer Bowl and the Software Publishers Association’s 10th Annual Codie Awards, both featured on the series Computer Chronicles. More recently, his music appeared on the WB Network hit series Hart of Dixie, continuing his long-standing presence in the national music scene.
Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs for the best seating and enjoy the open-air experience surrounded by Palladio’s vibrant mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment. The Beer & Wine Garden hosted by Barnes & Noble Kitchen will also be open during the show, offering small plates and drinks on tap.
