Cheers, high fives, and joyful reunions filled the halls of Folsom Cordova Unified School District campuses over the past two weeks as graduating seniors returned to where their educational journeys began. The occasion was the district’s beloved “Grad-itude Walk,” a long-standing tradition that honors the graduating Class of 2025 while inspiring the next generation of students.

Seniors from Folsom High School, Vista del Lago, Cordova High, and Kinney High donned their caps and gowns and made their way through the elementary and middle schools they once attended. Along the way, they were welcomed like hometown heroes—surrounded by handmade signs, proud cheers, emotional hugs from former teachers, and spirited encouragement from younger students.

For many seniors, the event marked a full-circle moment—stepping back into classrooms where they first learned to read and write, now as role models for those following in their footsteps. Educators, some holding back tears, embraced their former students with pride, reminded once again of the lasting impact of their work.

The Grad-itude Walk tradition serves as more than just a celebration of academic achievement; it’s a powerful example for current elementary and middle school students to visualize their own futures, motivated by the very faces that once stood where they are now.

Folsom Cordova Unified expressed deep appreciation for the staff members, teachers, and administrators who worked behind the scenes to bring the event to life, as well as the PTAs and PTOs who helped organize each school’s celebration. Their effort ensured every senior felt seen, appreciated, and uplifted by the community that helped shape them.
