The numbers speak for themselves. As of January 1, 2025, Folsom’s estimated total population has reached an impressive 92,577 residents. It represents a significant increase of 3,581 new residents in just one year, translating to a robust 4% population growth rate!

But the accolades don’t stop there! These figures highlight Folsom’s remarkable growth trajectory within the state:

• 4th Fastest-Growing City in California (Population over 30,000):Folsom is among the top tier of larger cities experiencing significant expansion.
• #2 Fastest-Growing California City (Population under 300,000) with the Largest Numeric Change: A particularly noteworthy achievement that shows that Folsom isn’t just growing proportionally, but also adding the most new residents among mid-sized cities.
• #8 of the Top 10 California Cities Based on Single-Family Housing Unit Growth: This reflects the strong demand for quality housing in our community.
• 1,012 New Single-Family Housing Units Added in 2024: This accounts for a substantial 68.9% of the city’s total net housing growth, illustrating a focus on providing the types of housing that families desire.

It’s important to note that California’s population grew by a modest 0.28 percent statewide. Folsom’s 4 percent growth rate significantly outpaces the state average, underscoring our city’s unique appeal and the factors driving our expansion.

This exceptional growth is a testament to the many factors that make Folsom so desirable: our thriving job market, particularly in the tech sector; our exceptional quality of life with top-rated schools and abundant amenities; our commitment to family-friendly living; and our strategic location. The addition of over 1,000 new single-family homes in the past year demonstrates our commitment to meeting the housing needs of our growing population.
