Two exciting events are coming to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary this month, giving families multiple ways to connect with nature and enjoy the great outdoors. From hands-on animal exploration for young campers to an open-air movie night under the stars, these programs are sure to spark curiosity and create memories.
ABC Zoo Camp Returns for Summer Sessions
Designed for curious young minds ages 5 to 7, the ABC Zoo Camp is a unique opportunity for children to learn about animals in a playful, interactive environment. Led by the experienced docents of the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, this three-day program blends crafts, songs, and up-close encounters with outreach animals to teach kids about wildlife and conservation.
Campers will gather just steps from the zoo at the Folsom Public Library, where the camp takes place from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Wednesday. At the end of each session, families are invited to watch a special performance of the camp song and receive a keepsake photo booklet highlighting their child’s experience.

Four sessions of ABC Zoo Camp are scheduled throughout June and July. Due to high demand, parents are encouraged to register early online to secure a spot.
“Bear Tracks to the Big Screen” Movie Night Set for June 20
Families are invited to enjoy a summer evening at the zoo with “Bear Tracks to the Big Screen” on Friday, June 20. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with extended evening hours at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, allowing visitors to explore and visit the animals as the sun begins to set.

Following the zoo experience, guests can head next door to the Kuntz Memorial field to enjoy a free screening of Disney’s Brother Bear, which begins at 8:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks for this cozy community night under the stars.
