FOLSOM -Motorists traveling along East Bidwell Street can expect ongoing lane closures and possible short-term water service interruptions as crews continue progress on the City of Folsom’s water infrastructure improvement project throughout August.
The multi-phase project, which began in late July, involves the installation of new water mainlines in three key sections of East Bidwell Street. Designed to improve water delivery and reliability for the community, the project also includes pressure testing of the new lines once they’re in place to ensure long-term performance.
Work is currently underway between Clarksville Road and Power Center Way and will continue through Friday, August 1. The next and most impactful phase is scheduled for August 5 through August 19, when crews will install new pipes along East Bidwell between Power Center Way and Oak Avenue Parkway. This stretch is expected to see the greatest traffic disruptions.
Construction will wrap up in late August with final improvements occurring between Oak Avenue Parkway and Iron Point Road. During all phases of the project, drivers are advised to use caution in active construction zones. Temporary lane closures will be in effect as needed.
Some residents and businesses may experience brief water service interruptions during the project. City officials have stated that those affected will receive advance notice before any service impacts occur.
Folsom city staff encourages the public to stay informed throughout the project by visiting bit.ly/folsomwater, calling 916-222-4824, or emailing WaterImprovementProject@folsom.ca.us for updates and information.
