Sign ups open for Sept. 5 event that benefits the Riggins Ross Foundation’s mission of healing and hope
A fun evening of friendly competition will carry a deeper meaning on Thursday, September 5, as the community comes together for the inaugural Sippin’ & Tossin’ Cornhole Classic at the Folsom Community Center. More than just a game night, the event aims to raise critical funds and awareness for the Riggins Ross Foundation, a local nonprofit offering support to families navigating the heartbreaking journey of pregnancy and infant loss.
Set to take place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 52 Natoma Street, the Sippin’ & Tossin’ Cornhole Classic invites players of all levels to enjoy a night of heartfelt competition, great food, cold drinks, and meaningful connection. Whether you’re tossing bags for fun or aiming for the championship, every throw helps honor the tiny lives that left an indelible impact.
Teams of two can register for $250, which includes tournament entry, dinner, two drink tickets, and commemorative T-shirts. General admission tickets are available for $40 and include a meal and access to the evening’s festivities. All proceeds directly benefit the Riggins Ross Foundation and its mission to assist grieving families through financial relief, compassionate care, and emotional support.
The foundation was created in honor of Riggins Ross Watson, the beloved son of Cy and Jazmyn Watson. Diagnosed in the womb with a rare and fatal kidney disease, Riggins spent 30 cherished weeks growing before being born still on March 19, 2025. Despite never taking a breath, his brief life became the driving force behind a growing movement of love and advocacy.
The organization cites its mission as one of compassion and support, offering a hand to families going through similar tragedies and ensuring no one walks through loss alone or is burdened by the costs that often come with it.
Since its founding, the Riggins Ross Foundation has helped launch hope into the world by providing direct aid to families facing miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. The nonprofit operates with the goal of honoring lives, helping families, and building a compassionate network of support during life’s most difficult moments.
The evening will also feature raffle prizes and additional donation opportunities for those wishing to further support the foundation’s work. Attendees are encouraged to wear their heart on their sleeves—and their support on the scoreboard—as they join others in tossing for a cause.
