The Folsom City Council chambers were filled with community pride Tuesday night as Mayor Sarah Aquino and the council honored the Folsom American Little League 10U All-Stars for their standout championship season. The celebration, held during the August 12 council meeting at City Hall, recognized the team’s hard work, sportsmanship, and record-breaking accomplishments.
Aquino presented the players and coaches with a formal resolution of commendation, praising the group for representing Folsom with “exceptional teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication to the game of baseball.” The honor was presented on behalf of the City Council and the entire Folsom community, congratulating the team on its accomplishments and wishing them success in the future.
The 10U All-Stars went undefeated in both the Sunrise Tournament and the District 54 All-Star Tournament, securing the District 54 Championship title. They went on to claim the Section 4 Championship with an impressive overall record of 14 wins, one loss, and one tie, advancing to the State Tournament in Eureka to represent Folsom with pride and excitement.
This year’s team made local history by becoming the first Folsom American All-Star squad under the age of 12 to win a District 54 tournament in more than two decades, defeating Lakeside 6-2 to clinch the title. Throughout the season, the players demonstrated positive attitudes, strong work ethic, and a love of the game that resonated with fans and the broader community.
The roster includes Caden Black, Beau Davis, Ethan Gong, Declan Hausmann, Curtis Hayes Jr., Colton Henry, Reed MacLeod, Hayden Smith, Hunter Smith, Isaiah Trujillo, Hunter Vickers, and Everett Ziemann. Coaches Brandon MacLeod, Sean Smith, and Ryan Henry were recognized for their outstanding leadership, instruction, and encouragement, guiding the team to one of the program’s most memorable summers on the field.
In presenting the commendation, Aquino thanked the players, coaches, and their families for the dedication they brought to the sport and the positive way they represented Folsom both on and off the field. “We congratulate you on an extraordinary season and wish you success in the future,” she said.
The evening’s recognition served as both a celebration of a winning year and an acknowledgment of the important role youth sports play in fostering community spirit in Folsom.
