As the 2025–26 school year begins, there’s a palpable energy in the air, one filled with excitement, anticipation, and a sense of possibility. At Folsom Cordova Unified, we are entering this new chapter with a powerful focus on something foundational to learning and growth: connectedness.

For us, connectedness goes far beyond being in the same place at the same time. It’s about building relationships grounded in trust, care, and mutual respect. It’s about ensuring that every student feels seen, every family feels welcomed, and every staff member feels valued. When these connections are strong, learning deepens, and our community thrives.

This year, we’re embracing a mindset we call the Warm Demander—educators and staff who lead with both high expectations and high care. We believe that when we challenge students academically while also offering them unwavering support, they rise to their fullest potential. It’s not a choice between rigor and compassion—it’s both. That’s what makes our schools so special.

But this work doesn’t happen in isolation. Our students succeed when families, educators, and community members come together as partners. Whether you’re a parent helping with homework, a local business leader offering mentorship, or a neighbor cheering on our students at a Friday night game, you are part of what makes our district exceptional.

So, as we kick off this school year, I invite everyone to lean into connection. Get to know your child’s teacher. Volunteer at a school event. Reach out to someone new in your school community. Celebrate the achievements, big and small, happening every day across our campuses.

At FCUSD, we often refer to “The FC Way,” a shared commitment to excellence fueled by care, collaboration, and high expectations. This year, let’s make it our collective mission to live out that vision in every interaction.

Here’s to a joyful, impactful, and deeply connected school year. I’m proud to serve this incredible community, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.
