The Boardwalk in Orangevale turns up the volume this Saturday, September 27, as Sacramento hard rock powerhouse Some Fear None returns to the stage, joined by special guest Waves of Distortion. The show promises to deliver an unforgettable night of heavy riffs, high energy, and a reunion that fans have waited nearly a decade to see.

Some Fear None first stormed onto the Sacramento music scene in 2010, quickly building a reputation for harmony-driven, radio-ready hard rock. Their influences spanned from Deftones and Foo Fighters to Alice in Chains, Tool, and Soundgarden, and they turned that wide palette into a sound that was distinctly their own. With vocalist and guitarist Nathan Giguiere at the helm, joined by guitarist Charles Carrasco, drummer Jason Weisker, and bassist Gina Salatino, the band created a dynamic that was both raw and precise.

Their six-year run earned them accolades, awards, and a fiercely loyal fan base. They weren’t just a local band—they became a staple at some of Northern California’s largest stages, where they shared their unique blend of power and melody with thousands of fans. In 2016, at the height of their momentum, the group stepped away for personal reasons. For years, their fans held out hope for a return, and in 2025, the wait is finally over. Their reunion has reignited Sacramento’s hard rock community, bringing back a band whose live shows were always more than music—they were an experience of connection, intensity, and passion.

Sharing the stage with them is Waves of Distortion, one of Sacramento’s strongest modern alt-metal acts. Formed in 2018 by guitarist Brennen Von Slack, the band leans into a sound that blends the melodic side of heavy music with crushing distortion and driving rhythms. Their influences stem from the nu-metal and contemporary hard rock era, but they add their own edge that makes their music both familiar and forward-looking. Their 2021 debut album, Race Against Time, resonated with listeners through its exploration of themes like brokenness, resilience, and the struggle to overcome adversity. On stage, Waves of Distortion are known for turning those emotions into powerful, physical performances that grab hold of an audience and don’t let go.
