Across the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD), we have and continue to make historic investments in our schools, investments that prepare our students for the future. These improvements are possible thanks to the generosity of our community through the passage of bond measures, most recently Measures R and S in the Rancho Cordova area, which are funding projects that are transforming our campuses and classrooms.
Already, FCUSD has launched and completed modernization projects that improve safety, upgrade technology, and create learning environments where students can thrive. From classroom upgrades to new science labs, from athletic facilities to essential infrastructure, these projects are breathing new life into our schools. And in Rancho Cordova, we are excited to reimagine an office building into a new innovative high school designed with flexible, rigorous programs and robust career and technical education pathways. This project represents the best of our district: creative, fiscally responsible, forward-thinking, and responsive to the diverse needs of our students.
While many California school districts are experiencing declining enrollment, FCUSD is one of the few that continues to grow. This is especially true in Folsom. Growth is a blessing, it brings vitality and new opportunities, but it also creates a responsibility: we must ensure we have schools ready to serve every student who walks through our doors and meet our vision of “empowering all students to thrive through educational excellence.” That means planning today for the new schools that will be needed tomorrow.
New schools in Folsom will be essential to meet the demands of a growing community, while ongoing upgrades across the entire District will ensure equity in access to safe, modern learning environments. Whether it’s new classrooms, improved facilities, or cutting-edge technology, every investment strengthens our ability to prepare students for their future.
It’s important to remember that FCUSD is one District. Whether you live in Folsom or Rancho Cordova, every investment lifts us all. The new innovative high school in Rancho Cordova will provide opportunities for students across the District. Likewise, new schools in Folsom will relieve crowding and support excellence that benefits all of us. When we invest in one community, the entire District grows stronger.
To sustain this momentum, FCUSD is exploring the best path forward to secure additional resources in the coming years to meet our growing needs. Investing in our schools is a shared investment in our future, one that pays dividends in student achievement, property values, and community pride.
The story of our District has always been one of partnership. Families, educators, business leaders, and residents have worked together to build schools that reflect our shared values. Together, as one District, we can ensure that every child has access to the opportunities they deserve.
