Artisanal dessert shop is putting the finishing touches on its Prairie City Crossing location, blending nostalgia and creativity into every scoop.
FOLSOM — Ice cream lovers, get ready. A new dessert destination is about to sweeten the scene in Folsom as Umbrella Creamery prepares to open its doors at Prairie City Crossing, bringing handcrafted, globally inspired treats to one of the city’s fastest-growing shopping centers.
The independently owned shop promises to deliver more than your standard scoop. Inspired by flavors from around the world and crafted with nostalgia at heart, Umbrella Creamery blends innovation and tradition in every batch. The menu features small-batch ice cream made from locally sourced ingredients — no preservatives, no shortcuts — and boasts flavors ranging from timeless Vanilla Bean to bold and unexpected creations like Dubai Chocolate, Vegan Choco Chip Cookie Dough, and lemon-thyme sorbet.
But the frozen fun doesn’t stop there. Umbrella Creamery will also feature internationally inspired treats such as faloodas— rich, layered dessert drinks popular across South Asia — and paletas, the colorful Mexican-style popsicles known for their refreshing fruit and creamy blends. Customers can also look forward to thick, made-to-order milkshakes that turn any craving into a moment worth savoring.
According to the new business, the name Umbrella Creamery celebrates “small symbols of warmth, joy, and togetherness,” inspired by early memories of umbrellas at beaches, street carts, and backyard picnics. The concept traces its roots to the founders’ family kitchen, where global travels and cherished recipes combined to create something both familiar and fresh.
The new creamery will be located at 1870 Prairie City Road, Suite 300, within the Prairie City Crossing shopping center — a hub that continues to attract new dining and retail options on the south side of Folsom.
“Our mission is that locals line up not just for ice cream, but for a reminder of simpler times and honest indulgence,” reads the shop’s website. “Umbrella Creamery isn’t just an ice cream shop — it’s a celebration of craft, comfort, and community.”
