This week’sFolsom Times Shelter Pet Spotlight, presented byDorothea’s Shoppe of Historic Folsom, home to Christmas all year long and more, features a sweet and curious pup named Mimosa. This 1-year-old Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog mix is full of potential and looking for a loving family to help her blossom. Mimosa is currently residing at Sacramento County Animal Services’ Bradshaw Shelter.

Mimosa is a female, black and white Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog mix, estimated to be about 1 year and 1 month old. She weighs approximately 40 pounds and has been at the shelter since Oct. 30, 2025. True to her herding breed roots, Mimosa is intelligent, alert, and observant—traits that will shine even brighter in the right home.

Currently sharing a kennel with two dogs she arrived with, Mimosa has done well with her shelter companions and recently met some social dogs in playgroups. While she hasn’t been ready to play just yet, staff are hopeful that with more time and comfort, her silly and social side will soon emerge.

If you’re looking for a buddy for your own pup, Mimosa might be just the match. Bring your dog to the shelter for a meet-and-greet and see how they connect. You can evencheck out her playgroup video hereto see how she interacts with others.
