FOLSOM — The Folsom City Council has approved a new professional services agreement with Infinity Technologies to provide expanded support for the city’s Geographic Information System (GIS) and Lucity asset-management programs, key tools that help staff map infrastructure, track maintenance, and manage development data. The $130,000 annual contract was adopted on the council’s consent calendar during its November 12 meeting.
The agreement authorizes the city manager to execute the contract, which will be funded through the General Fund along with the Water and Wastewater enterprise funds. No additional appropriation is required, according to the staff report.
City officials say the services are essential to maintaining the technology systems that support daily operations across Community Development, Public Works, Utilities, and Public Safety. Folsom relies on GIS mapping, data integration, and the Lucity platform to track assets, support field crews, manage infrastructure, and maintain accurate citywide information.
The city upgraded its ArcGIS Enterprise system in 2024 to improve stability and data access. However, staffing changes in the Information Technology Department have reduced internal capacity to manage GIS and Lucity without outside support. The agreement with Infinity Technologies ensures continuity and avoids service disruptions, staff noted.
Infinity Technologies has worked with the city periodically over the past eight years and brings extensive experience with municipal GIS systems, including Esri ArcGIS, Lucity, and Central Square Community Development. The company is an Esri partner, providing its staff access to current software training and best practices.
The newly approved scope of work includes ArcGIS Enterprise administration, GIS integration support for Community Development, data-layer updates, WebGIS application development and maintenance, automation projects, and expanded Lucity administration. The contract also adds a deeper focus on business analysis and staff training to help city departments better optimize the Lucity system.
The contract’s $130,000 cost will be covered by salary savings in the city’s Information Technology budget and existing funds in the Water and Wastewater divisions.
