It’s a great weekend for a great deal on some great reading in Folsom. The Friends of the Folsom Library’s annual Spring Book Sale has returned and continues through this Sunday, Mar. 10.
Taking place in the conference room of Folsom Public Library, those looking to stock up their personal library can do so on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is free both days.
Book prices are $2 for books and $0.50 for children’s books. There will be some unusual books that will be priced as marked, according to the organizers. Sunday pricing will be a bag of books for $5. For all days of the sale, cash, credit card, debit card, and Apple Pay are accepted.
In addition to the book sale, the library bookstore will be open on Saturday.
“We are very excited about a wonderful donation we received of over 2,000 books from the private library of a local collector, Beverly McLaggan. These books will be available at the sale. Most are hardcover fiction and all are in pristine condition,” reads an announcement from Friends of the Folsom Library. “A number of them are signed first editions. As a child, Beverly McLaggan delighted in going to the library and returning home with a stack of books. Her love of reading grew and influenced her to become an English teacher, thus sharing her love of authors. When the time came to downsize rather than acquire additional volumes, Beverly chose to donate her collection of over 2,000 books to the Friends of the Folsom Library.”
In addition to the pricing above, the event will also offer hardcover fiction grab bags for $2 each. Every grab bag contains at least six hardcover fiction books.
The Friends of the Folsom Library have one purpose, which is to advocate for and support the Folsom Public Library. The time volunteered and the money raised by Friends make these types of programs possible.
