As we enter November, a month known for gratitude, reflection, and community, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to live and learn in the Folsom Cordova Unified community. In education, progress is rarely achieved alone. It takes collaboration, generosity, and a shared belief in the potential of every student. This month, I want to shine a spotlight on the individuals and partners whose support strengthens our schools each day.
First, to our certificated, classified, and management staff across the District. Your dedication, professionalism, and compassion define the culture of excellence that families experience in every one of our schools. Whether teaching in the classroom, maintaining safe and welcoming campuses, preparing nutritious meals, managing operations, or leading teams, your collective efforts create the foundation upon which student success is built. Your work, often behind the scenes and beyond the spotlight, makes a profound difference every day, and I am sincerely thankful for all that you do.
Also, across our campuses, parent volunteers are critical in supporting our vibrant, welcoming campuses that students experience each day. Whether helping in classrooms, coordinating events, supporting enrichment activities, or serving on parent–teacher organizations and advisory committees, your dedication enhances the educational journey for thousands of students. Your time, energy, and commitment embody the spirit of partnership that makes our schools stronger and more connected.
We are equally grateful for the incredible organizations that pour into our schools, our students and our teammates. Our education foundations, nonprofit partners, businesses, service clubs, and civic leaders continue to invest in academic programs, extracurricular activities, arts education, and opportunities that extend learning far beyond the classroom.
From funding grants that spark creativity in our classrooms to offering internships, mentorships, and hands-on learning experiences, your contributions make a tangible difference. These partnerships not only enhance academic excellence, they build pathways that prepare students for college, career, and life.
Every week, I see examples of community collaboration that reinforce how deeply people care about our students. I see parents organizing food drives and volunteers showing up early to set up events that bring families together. I see local businesses donating supplies and resources to ensure students have what they need to thrive. I see community groups hosting workshops, after-school programs, and cultural celebrations that enrich the educational experience for all.
These acts of generosity, big and small, reflect the values that define our District: compassion, partnership, and commitment to student success.
As a District, we are steadfast in our belief that students flourish when schools and communities work together. Our educators bring passion and expertise, our families bring insight and support, and our partners bring resources and innovation. Together, we are building schools where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired.
It is no coincidence that Folsom Cordova Unified is consistently recognized as one of the most desirable and highly ranked Districts in the region. Families choose our schools, and stay with our schools, because of the extraordinary collaboration among educators, families, volunteers, foundations, and community partners. This shared commitment creates an environment where students can excel, teachers feel supported, and innovation thrives. Our strong reputation is the direct result of a community that shows up, contributes, and believes in the power of public education.
Thank you to our families, volunteers, foundations, community partners, faculty and staff, and the countless supporters who make a difference every day. Your continued involvement strengthens our District, enriches our classrooms, and helps us build a brighter future for all students. This month, and every month, we are grateful for you.
