R&B, soul and funk Friday lead into modern country energy Saturday followed by a New Years Eve double billing

Red Hawk Resort Casino is lining up another high-energy weekend of free live music as Patton Leatha Band and Flat Busted bring two distinct nights of crowd-moving performances to the Stage Bar.

Friday night belongs to Patton Leatha Band, returning to the Red Hawk stage from 8 p.m. until midnight with a versatile and dance-driven mix that spans decades and genres. Led by Duane Patton, the band moves effortlessly from sultry slow jams to funky dance numbers, covering Motown, R&B, old-school favorites and modern chart-toppers. Patton’s musical journey began at just 11 years old, when he was signed to CBS Records as part of the Bay Area group The Together Band. During that time, he performed at the CBS Convention Showcase alongside artists including Earth, Wind & Fire, Barbra Streisand and Journey.

Under CBS Records, Patton was produced by Henry Crosby, one of the producers behind The Jackson 5’s iconic “ABC” album, and received early encouragement from Clive Davis, who was instrumental in signing the group. Patton later signed with Holland Dozier Holland’s HDH Records as an artist, songwriter and producer, further cementing his place in the industry. Among his many career highlights, Patton earned a platinum album as one of the vocalists on Too Short’s “Short Dog In The House” for the track “The Ghetto.” In recent years, Patton Leatha Band has performed at major casinos nationwide, including MGM Grand, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Graton, Cache Creek and Thunder Valley, delivering polished, high-energy shows built to keep dance floors full late into the night.

Saturday night shifts gears as Flat Busted brings modern country energy to the Stage Bar from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Led by longtime frontman Brian McPherson, Flat Busted has spent more than a decade performing across California, Nevada and Oregon, building a loyal following with their polished country sound and engaging live performances. McPherson is known for performing with a headset microphone, allowing him to move freely throughout the venue and connect directly with the crowd, a hallmark of Flat Busted shows whether they’re playing casinos, amphitheaters, fairs or private events.

McPherson’s path into music traces back to a defining moment in 1995, when seeing Garth Brooks perform live inspired him to pursue music professionally. He began performing alongside his brother as part of The McPherson Brothers, playing local bars and events before the project evolved into Flat Busted. Over years on the road, the band has built a reputation for energetic performances, crowd interaction and a sound that blends contemporary country with showmanship designed to keep audiences coming back.

All Stage Bar performances at Red Hawk Resort Casino are free with no cover charge, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
