Summer Twilight Concert series followed by Hometown Country Radio Show Friday night.
The Folsom Historic District’s Summer Twilight Concert continues this Thursday evening. This week will mark the second of 13 weeks of live music to take place in the Zittel Family Amphitheatre in the heart of the Historic District with the the Sugar High Band bringing their energetic show with a variety of R&B and Funk to the outdoor stage in the heart of Historic Folsom.
The Sugar High Band is comprised of eight musicians who create an exciting, high-energy, unforgettable live musical experience. Formed in 2017 in Sacramento California, lead vocalists Melissa Corona, Mike Rivera and Eddie Tacdol Jr. set out to create the ultimate band. After joining forces with Dameion Lewis (keys), Ivan Johnson (keys), DL Edwards (lead guitar), Fred Collins (bass) and Shawn “Pocket” Evans (drums), the formula was complete and SHB was ready for the stage! The Sugar High Band has been praised for their tight musicianship, extraordinary vocals and most of all their innovative and unique performance style.
The Sugar High Band is influenced by a wide range of genres, including R&B, pop, funk, and soul. Their songs are often catchy and upbeat, but they also have a deeper message. Sugar High Band’s song selections explore themes of love, loss, social justice, and personal growth. SHB is a band on the rise, and they are sure to continue to make waves in the music industry. They are a talented and passionate group of musicians who are dedicated to creating music that inspires and uplifts.
The 2024 music series presented by Historic Folsom and Willamette Wineworks with a number of supporting sponsors that make it all possible. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and continues for two hours. An early arrival to the amphitheater is suggested to reserve a spot, guests are urged to bring low-backed chairs that sit close to the ground or picnic blankets.

Hometown Country Radio Show on Friday night
Thursday’s event is the first of two nights of music in the amphitheater. On Friday night, the evening before the Historic Folsom Hometown Parade, the third annual Hometown Country Radio Show will entertain.
Starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, the Hometown Country Radio Show is a free concert featuring a number of talented performers, all coming together in a celebration of country music, which began as an experiment two years ago by local musicians and impresarios Billy J. Walsh and Ian Cornell, proved very popular and has been a hit ever since.
“It is a Grand Ole Opry-style show at the Zittel Family Amphitheater to celebrate the history of country music,” said Walsh, a Folsom resident who performs with his bands the Sky Kings and Rangers. “This is a multi-artist show featuring some of the best country musicians on the west coast, perfect for those who like to dance and sing along.”
The stage will be shared by up to 20 musicians, including Walsh; former “Voice” competitor Kristen Brown; locally-based Nashville recording artist Michael Gregory; Michael Curtis, Jr.;Flying Eugene Flowers; Kevin Jachetta ; Matt Twain; Ian Worley; Danielle Walsh Mata; Sunny Mitchell; Jerry Verseput;Mark Wheeler; Amy, Lizzy and Maddie Malekos; Joe Orlando, Geoffrey Miller; and Mitch Ballard. Cornell serves as guest emcee for the show.
“We will perform a chronology of songs from classic country artists such as Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams, through the country-pop era of Lady A, Lee Ann Womack, Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood; and into the country-rock era of The Eagles, Poco and Linda Ronstadt,” said Walsh. “Stellar musical performances combined with fantastic vocalists will provide an entertaining show unlike any other here in our hometown of Folsom.”
The event is free and family friendly. Walsh said guests are encouraged to arrive early, set-up low-back lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy dinner in the historic district before the show. Beer and wine will be available at the event.
