Sac Metro, Folsom crews respond to incident near Oak and Mountain avenues

An Orangevale man died from his injuries Monday evening following a tractor rollover accident near the intersection of Oak and Mountain avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m., when emergency crews from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District and the Folsom Fire Department were dispatched to the area following reports of a tractor accident involving a person pinned beneath the vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male trapped under the tractor. Despite rescue efforts, the man died from his injuries.

According to investigators, the victim was operating a John Deere tractor near the roadway and an embankment when the tractor rolled over. Officials said the man was ejected during the rollover, and the tractor landed on top of him.

As a result of the emergency response and investigation, Oak Avenue was temporarily closed between Mountain and Cardwell avenues. The roadway remained closed for approximately two hours before reopening to traffic. Units responding to the scene included one engine and a medic unit from Folsom, one engine and a rescue unit from Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, as well as a battalion chief.

The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members and release by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
