The concert features acclaimed guest soloists Tiffany Townsend, soprano, and Cedric Berry, bass-baritone, whose performances anchor a program built around passion, tenderness, joy and heartbreak. Among the evening’s vocal highlights are selections from Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin, including the enduring lullaby “Summertime,” the spirited optimism of “I Got Plenty o’ Nuttin’,” and the emotionally rich duet “Bess, You Is My Woman Now.”

The orchestral program continues that emotional arc with bold and beloved works from the classical repertoire. Audiences will hear the driving energy and color of the Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor, the celebratory Wedding March from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the sweeping intensity of Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy, one of classical music’s most powerful expressions of tragic love.
