A Rancho Cordova man has been arrested in connection with a series of indecent exposure incidents reported across Folsom in recent weeks, authorities announced.
The suspect, identified as Luis Alonso Hernandez, 46, was taken into custody on Feb. 8 after a Folsom resident called 911 to report a man engaging in lewd behavior in a white Honda Civic. Officers located Hernandez behind a business in the 500 block of E. Bidwell Street and arrested him on multiple counts of indecent exposure and annoying or molesting a minor. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
The investigation began after multiple incidents were reported to Folsom Police. On Jan. 15, two juveniles walking in the 200 block of Natoma Station Drive reported that a man in a white Honda drove alongside them and exposed himself. The juveniles fled, and the incident was captured on security video.
Ten days later, on Jan. 25, two juveniles playing at a playground in the 1100 block of Duchow Way observed a man standing near a white Honda in an alleyway, exposing himself while staring at them. The suspect then left the area, and this incident was also recorded on surveillance footage.
Detectives linked the vehicle to Hernandez and were actively searching for him when another incident occurred on Feb. 8. A juvenile in an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Sibley Street reported that a man in a white Honda exposed himself and engaged in lewd conduct while staring at them before driving away. Shortly afterward, an adult resident in the 1100 block of Duchow Way observed a man in a white Honda engaging in similar behavior and contacted police.
Authorities believe there may be additional victims. Anyone who recognizes Hernandez or has experienced a similar encounter is urged to contact the Folsom Police Department Communications Center at (916) 355-7231.
Folsom Police encourage residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity immediately.
