FOLSOM — An arrest has been made in the May 28, 2025, collision at Golf Links Drive and East Natoma Street that left a 20-year-old Folsom man dead, Folsom police announced Thursday.

The department said its Major Accident Response Team (MART) completed a thorough investigation, and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Elijah Zackney, 20, on a charge of 192(c)(1) PC — vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. Zackney was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

Officers were called to the two-vehicle crash at 12:45 a.m. on May 28. One driver was found unconscious and not breathing; despite life-saving efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver remained on site as MART began its investigation, police said.

The Sacramento County Coroner later identified the deceased as Braiden David Flynn, 20, of Folsom.

Vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence under Penal Code 192(c)(1) applies when a driver, acting with gross negligence while committing an unlawful act not amounting to a felony (or a lawful act in a dangerous way), causes another person’s death.

“The Folsom Police Department remains committed to relentlessly pursuing criminal behavior,” the agency said in its statement.
