The city of Folsom will soon host another new brewery. Knee Deep Brewing Co. is expanding its footprint with a taproom in Broadstone Plaza.

Since 2010, Knee Deep Brewing has been in operation. The family-owned brewery produces a variety of popular craft beers, including ales, porters, stouts, and sours, from its 37,000-square-foot facility in Auburn, which also features a taproom. The new Folsom microbrewery will occupy a nearly 4,000-square-foot space at 2793 E. Bidwell St. The location was formerly home to Round Table Pizza, which vacated the space two years ago, and it has remained vacant since.

Knee Deep Brewing is seeking a license from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to operate a taproom at 2793 E. Bidwell St., Suite 100, in Folsom. The 3,991-square-foot space in the Broadstone Plaza center was last occupied by Round Table Pizza, which closed in late 2023.

According to Andrew Moore, head of marketing for the brewing company, the search for a second location has been underway for more than five years, with a pause during the pandemic that slowed operations for many tap houses and restaurants. Knee Deep Brewing will continue to brew its beers at the Auburn location, while the Folsom site will serve as a taproom and restaurant.

In addition to offering its popular brews, the Folsom location will feature a variety of food choices. The menu will be similar to that of its Auburn location, with pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and more. Construction is already underway, and the company anticipates opening sometime in March.

Knee Deep beers have received numerous awards over the past 10 years at various events, ranging from local and regional competitions to national and international recognition. The Knee Deep brand is known across the country and in several other nations for the quality and consistency of its IPAs and other styles.
