They are known for their unique ice cream flavors, like Cherry Garcia, Phish Food and Chunky Monkey and soon you’ll be able to get them on a cone in Historic Folsom. Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shop is coming to town.
The beloved ice cream company plans to open a new franchised scoop shop at 711 Sutter St., taking over the space currently occupied by Seasons 916.
The upcoming location will be at 711 Sutter Street, a space most recently occupied by Seasons 916 which has since closed. The new treatery comes courtesy of franchisees Justin and Amy Pierce of El Dorado Hills. The shop will reportedly feature indoor seating, allowing customers to enjoy Ben & Jerry’s most popular flavors served on cones, in sundaes, or blended into shakes and smoothies. Catering services for local events will also be available.
The shop will offer a wide selection of Ben & Jerry’s celebrated flavors, including long-standing classics and more recent fan favorites. Ice cream enthusiasts can expect to see likely find staples like Chocolate Fudge Brownie, a rich blend of chocolate ice cream and gooey brownie chunks, and Americone Dream, a vanilla base with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and caramel swirls. For peanut butter lovers, Peanut Butter Cup promises decadent indulgence, while fruity fans might lean toward Strawberry Cheesecake, a mix of creamy cheesecake ice cream, strawberries, and graham cracker swirls.
Ben & Jerry’s, which began in 1978 as a single ice cream parlor in Burlington, Vermont, has grown into a global favorite, known for its high-quality ingredients and creative mix-ins. While the company’s products are sold in more than 35 countries, its “scoop shops” offer a personalized experience where customers can customize their treats with a variety of toppings.
Currently, the nearest Ben & Jerry’s location is at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln. The new Historic Folsom location will provide a more convenient spot for local residents and visitors to savor their favorite frozen treats.
The shop is expected to open in the spring of 2025, with renovations to the Sutter Street location beginning soon. Once open, the scoop shop aims to become a go-to destination for sweet treats in the heart of Folsom, combining the charm of Historic Folsom with the flavor-packed experience Ben & Jerry’s is known for.
