ORANGEVALE – Authorities with Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are on scene of a homicide investigation in nearby Orangevale Monday.
The investigation follows the discovery of a body in an Orangevale neighborhood shortly after 9 a.m. this morning. Very few details are being released at this time as the investigation continues.
A resident from the 5900 block of Dahboy Way reportedly called 911 around 9 a.m. to report that their vehicle was being vandalized, the sheriff’s office reports. A short time later, a shooting occurred.
Deputies there found a man who was dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. Details were not released on if the man killed was the person who vandalized the vehicle.
Deputies said the victim and suspected gunman apparently knew each other and have contacted everyone else connected with the shooting.
Dahboy Way is located in the Timberwood area of Orangevale, just south of Greenback Lane and west of Illinois Way.
