Officials from the California Department of Parks and Recreation have confirmed reports of a body found near Lake Natoma in the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area on Tuesday.

According to reports, a visitor to the area of Black Miners Bar discovered the body shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The body was reportedly found near the bottom of a steep embankment along the north shore of the lake.

At this time, no specific cause of death has been released by authorities. The Sacramento County Coroner responded to assist with recovery efforts and will investigate the cause of death. There are reportedly no visible signs of foul play, and officials cite it is possible the individual died after falling from the steep hillside.

Officials have not released any further information other than that the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 27-year-old Nicholas Baker.
