From the classic sounds of the Eagles to R&B, classic rock, and blues, the stage at Historic Folsom’s Powerhouse Pub offers a diverse mix of genres this weekend, with five performers scheduled over three days at the city’s iconic entertainment venue.
Friday night kicks off with the TGIF early show featuring the Boys of Summer, one of the region’s most popular Eagles tribute bands, starting at 7 p.m. Known for their precise harmonies and iconic song renditions, they’ll take audiences on a journey through the Eagles’ greatest hits.
Following the sounds of the Eagles, Azúcal takes the stage at 10 p.m. Azúcal is a multi-genre band performing today’s hits, classic and alternative rock, R&B, soulful ballads, country, reggae, pop music from the ’70s and beyond, and a whole lot of danceable tunes.
On Saturday, Wasted Space performs at 3 p.m. for the Saturday Afternoon Dance Party. Later that evening, Wasted Space will bring you all of your favorite classics from the ’60s and ’70s. From the Beatles and the Stones to Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane, with a mix of Fleetwood Mac, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Mellencamp, the Eagles, and more.
Later Saturday, Grooveline headlines at 10 p.m. Dance to the sounds of R&B, Motown, Old School, and Latin rock. Grooveline adds a new dimension to cover songs with a combination of horns, dual guitars, keys, an exciting array of percussion, thunderous bass, and dynamic vocal arrangements.
The weekend wraps up on Sunday with Katie Knipp taking the stage for the Powerhouse of Blues at 3 p.m. Often referred to as the Northern California Blues Americana Siren, Knipp is known for her powerful vocals and multi-instrumental talents, ranging from boogie-woogie piano to slide guitar and harmonica-laden storytelling.
Knipp has shared the stage with Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan, Joan Osborne, Walter Trout, the Hidalgos, the Doobie Brothers, Tim Reynolds, Jon Cleary, Ruthie Foster, Joe Louis Walker, the James Hunter Six, and William Duvall of Alice in Chains, among others.
