FOLSOM – Powerhouse Pub in Historic Folsom is set to host four straight days of live music beginning Thursday night with a special visit by Brewer’s Grade Band, a group known for pushing the boundaries of country music while staying true to their Pacific Northwest roots. With damp weather in the forecast, it’s the perfect time to start the weekend early with an evening of energetic live entertainment.
Brewer’s Grade Band has carved out its own space in the country music world, blending traditional sounds with innovative arrangements that have earned them recognition on major stages. The band’s momentum has only grown in recent years, thanks in part to guitarist Joe Smart’s Grammy win for his work on the O’Connor Band’s “Coming Home” album. That accolade has opened doors for collaborations with industry giants like Paul Simon and Zac Brown Band, further elevating Brewer’s Grade Band’s presence in the country scene. Their genre-bending approach has taken them to the main stage at top West Coast festivals, landed them on an independent film soundtrack, and led to studio sessions and co-writes in Nashville and beyond.
The band is composed of lifelong Pacific Northwest natives who have been playing together in various forms for more than 20 years. Lead singer Zac Grooms and drummer Cody Christopherson first formed the group in high school in Arlington, Oregon. They were later joined by brothers Al and Nolan Hare, who grew up just down the Columbia River in The Dalles. Smart, a key force behind the band’s distinctive sound, first connected with them at Rainmaker Studios in Pasco, Washington, and has since helped drive their signature blend of Northwest country music.
Brewer’s Grade Band takes the stage at 9 p.m. Thursday as part of Powerhouse Country Night, a weekly event celebrating the best in live country music. Admission is free, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
