Sacramento-founded fast-casual dining favorite brings all-day breakfast and classic Mexican fare to Folsom

FOLSOM — A familiar fast-casual dining name has officially arrived in Folsom, as California Burrito has opened its newest location at 2515 Iron Point Road, filling the former Carl’s Jr. and Green Burrito building that permanently closed last fall after the chain shuttered several of its locations.

The Folsom restaurant marks the company’s 20th location overall and continues the steady growth of the Sacramento-founded brand. California Burrito was established more than 15 years ago by company president Jaime Tobanche and has expanded throughout Northern California, with locations in Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Lodi, Galt, Fairfield, Vacaville and Antioch.

Known for its fast-casual dining approach to Mexican food, California Burrito offers an extensive menu built around made-to-order favorites. Diners can choose from hearty burritos filled with carne asada, grilled chicken, carnitas or shrimp, including the signature California burrito — traditionally stuffed with steak, potatoes, cheese, beans and pico de gallo — and topped with guacamole and sour cream for extra flavor.

Tacos come in crispy and soft shells with a choice of meats or vegetarian fillings, and other popular offerings include enchiladas, tostadas, quesadillas and loaded nachos. The menu also features tortas, seafood items and fresh salsas that allow guests to customize their meals.

One of the brand’s standout features is its all-day breakfast selection, available from opening through closing. Breakfast burritos combine eggs with bacon, sausage, ham or chorizo alongside potatoes and cheese wrapped in a warm tortilla, and customers can also enjoy breakfast plates with classic Mexican sides. Mini breakfast burritos and protein-packed morning options are ideal for early commuters or brunch lovers.

The new Folsom location is now open seven days a week with extended hours designed to serve both early-morning commuters and late-night diners. The restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday, and from 7 a.m. to midnight on Sundays. The restaurant also features everyday specials, providing additional value for regular customers.

The Iron Point Road property, which had remained vacant since Carl’s Jr. closed its doors at the site, is now seeing renewed activity with the arrival of California Burrito, adding another Sacramento-area fast-casual dining option to Folsom’s growing restaurant lineup.
