The Sacramento County Sheriffs Department has arrested a man who allegedly sexually abused an elderly woman in Hospice care. 

According the department press release, Arthur Apgar of Placer County was arrested Thursday in relation to a sexual assault investigation conducted by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Sexual and Elder Abuse Bureau (SEAB).  The victim in this case was an elderly female who resided at a care facility where Apgar was working as a Hospice Chaplain at the time of the assault.

Apgar was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on four counts of Sexual Battery Against a Person who is Seriously Disabled or Medically Incapacitated.  He posted bail and was released from custody a short time later.  Apgar is scheduled to appear in court on August 12.
