FOLSOM — As the community prepares to celebrate Labor Day, the City of Folsom has released its schedule of closures and adjusted hours for Monday, September 1. While city administrative offices will be closed for the holiday, many services and amenities will remain available for residents and visitors.

City officials remind residents that for urgent city issues during the closure, calls may be directed to 916-461-6400, and 9-1-1 should always be used for life-threatening emergencies.

Garbage collection will not be affected by the holiday. Regular service will continue, and residents are asked to place cans curbside by 6 a.m. on their normal pickup day.

Transit riders should note that SacRT light rail and SacRT GO Paratransit services will operate on a Sunday and holiday schedule. Folsom Stage Line bus service operated by SacRT, however, will not be running.

Several city facilities will also be closed, including the Folsom Public Library, the Andy Morin Sports Complex, the Folsom Senior Center, the Folsom Art Center, and the Gallery at 48 Natoma.

For those looking to enjoy local attractions, the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with last admission at 2:30 p.m. The Steve Miklos Aquatic Center will host recreation swim from 1 to 5 p.m.

Outdoor recreation areas remain open, with the FIDO Field Dog Park available from 7 a.m. until one hour after sunset, and the Folsom Skate and Bike Parks open from dawn until 9 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for the closures and schedule adjustments.
